The Etang de Cousseau Nature Reserve
From Le Moutchic, the cycle path leads directly to the Cousseau Pond nature reserve, less than 5 km away.
In our opinion, this cycle path is the most beautiful in the whole area. Along the way, you’ll come across hundred-year-old oak trees, tree ferns and, if you’re lucky, some wildlife.
On arrival, the Etang de Cousseau reveals a truly unique and surprising natural setting where sea cows and all manner of migratory birds live side by side; you can watch them perched atop the two viewing platforms, which are linked by a path hidden beneath the trees along the lake’s edge.
At the foot of the left-hand viewing platform, known as Le Galip (which stands 40 metres high), you’ll enjoy the lawn, which is perfect for relaxing and having a picnic with family and friends.
